Thank you very much! I'm glad you had fun, truth is I don't really have a favorite genre, I mainly choose chiptune in hopes of being more melody focus (I also like the instruments as well)

I'm happy with it, I liked the vibe, the melody and overall I'm just thankful for receiving it!

MrSpud8 responds:

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

It's kinda slow evolving, but I think it has enough elements in it to make it enjoyable

V1ZION responds:

Thanks for leaving your thoughts, I appreciate it. :)

I usually don't care for ambient focused songs, but even something simple as those bells just doing a triad were enough for me to pay enough attention. Especially because you later developed it into a real melody as the song progressed.

Stuff like those distant background bells that came and went, the guitar, this at 1:58 and 2:28 all helped the track stay interesting without losing any of it's ambience

While a mostly liked the melody (loved that chord happening at 1:14), some parts near the end felt a little too "aimless" like at 2:16 (alone it sounds perfectly fine, but within the song it sounds a little out of place, like, I felt that the part around 1:46 was the climax ending down at 1:59, so to introduced a new less climatic climax after that wasn't called for)

PythonBlue responds:

I appreciate the critique. I fully admit I've been a bit rusty in the way of making original music lately, so I guess some repetition was inevitable for the time being. Glad to hear you liked it overall, though.

Short but really nice! Reminds me a lot of spirited away

And good luck with making more music more often! I find it easier to do as long as I don't mind how the end product ends up like

LoveBelow responds:

Oh, yeah. I getcha. I still want to create something that sounds good but I'm trying to not be too much of a perfectionist. There's a good balance.

Cool song, I like the melody, but I think the voices should be louder. Either that or make so the main instrument doesn't saturate the track so much... A matter of balancing sounds (which is ironically for a song about an unbalanced mind)

Edit: I feel it sounds way more balanced now! I'm glad I somewhat helped (also I just realised the rick and morty reference)

ChipSugarShock responds:

Thank you!

I gotta ask, I got curious about the meaning this song's name (is it "the evil and the muse with a fixed thinking" or something like that), but using google translate I got a bad BANANA!!??? hahahsdgjask wtf

Was that what you meant?

TeraVex responds:

I dunno ask @ProsciuttoMan he’s the mastermind behind the title

Edit: It's Apple and Bananas

This made me think and remember about the the sims soundtrack (which is not a bad thing I quite liked those building mode musics)

EODTC responds:

Thx man glad it brought back some memories

Woah great job! I see that in the description you put the game (in japanese) that each song is from, but flowering night is from PoFV (花映塚) not EoSD

L-Mity responds:

Oof, Sorry for miss i'll change it ASAP!

Just a heads up, from what I've heard from the judges you need at least 3 instruments from one of the four "types" of orchestral instruments. Either strings, brass, winds (like woodpipes flutes) and/or percussion (from timpani to piano, xylophone, harp and etc...).

Cello, vionlis and double bass are all from the same class: strings

If you want, just add something like a tuba or trombone doing the same as cello or the double bass, add some percussion to it and I think it should be fine?

Either way just talk to one of the judges, I'm just a bystander

Yoshiii343 responds:

god dammit, you're right
i'll get right on it

[track is now fix'd]

Not sure why you published a WIP, but overall there are a bunch of cool fun parts, hope you get to make a song out of this

The melodies are very nice and the begining is very epic with drums, I like it!

Also I got more "progressive rock" vibes than "heavy metal", although I'm not that good discerning genres

Afelium responds:

I wanted to share this track with someone on discord without risking losing credit for it (to my discord helper, nothing personal just a best practice). I know this isnt the intended use of the audio portal, so if you know any other place where I could post this to this end I'll do that ASAP

Making stuff I like, improving little by little
